An event organised by, and in support of, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. Hampshire and the Isle of Wight are two of the most biodiverse counties in England, home to internationally important coastal marshes, globally rare chalk streams and water meadows, fragile chalk grasslands, extensive heathlands, and rich ancient woodlands. Notable species include the Duke of Burgundy Butterfly, Pine Marten, Southern Damselfly, Red Squirrel, and many more. However, these wildlife havens and species are under threat and the Wilder 2030 strategy is the Trust’s response to the nature emergency, setting out a plan to put nature back in recovery and tip the scale back in nature's favour. Join Conor O'Hagan and Caitlin Woombs of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust as they give an illustrated talk detailing the work they are doing to create a Wilder Hampshire & Isle of Wight and how you can get involved. For more information and to book: https://www.hiwwt.org.uk/events/2023-09-14-bishops-waltham-local-volunteers-event-creating-wilder-hampshire-and-isle-wight Tickets are £4 and can be bought in advance online, or on the door (cash only). Meet around 6.50pm for a 7pm start. The talk is 2 hours with a break in the middle.
