A lovely circular walk across rolling downland to the west of Winchester. The walk starts with stunning views before following the Clarendon Way for a while to descend to cross farmland and walk along a Roman Road beside woodland. The route then loops back around to go through Parnholt Wood. If we are lucky we may see some early bluebells. The walk finishes with the stunning viewpoint of Farley Mount Monument, with views as far as the Isle of Wight on clear days.
The walk is expected to take approximately 3 and a half hours with breaks. Please bring water and snacks. Please wear appropriate sturdy footwear as the route is muddy and uneven in places. After the walk there is the option to go for a drink (and toilet facilities!) at The Plough Inn in Sparsholt (SO 21 2NW) which is an 8 minute drive away.
New walkers are very welcome.
