A 2-day, 1 night camping trip. Day 1 – 12.5 mile circular walk near Pewsey to include views of the Pewsey white horse. Day 2 – 11.5 mile circular walk that encompasses views of Stonehenge starting in Amesbury. Note, I will not have recced the walks but expect there to be hills and nice views.
Walk start points: Day 1 – North Street Car Park, Pewsey. This is a free car park. Alternative car parking at the train station car park, but this will charge. Day 2: Bonnymead Park Playground, Amesbury. This is a free car park. Alternative parking at Amesbury Central car park, but this will charge.
Campsite: Woodbridge Inn, North Newnton, Pewsey, SN9 6JZ. www.woodbridgeinn.uk
Meals: Bring lunch for both days and breakfast for day 2. Dinner at Woodbridge Inn.
Driving: We’ll meet at the walk start on Saturday (start time TBC) and drive to the campsite after the walk (10 min drive). Day 2, we would drive to the walk start from the campsite (20 min drive), then home afterwards, no doubt after a pub visit if people wish.
Please car share if possible. Pewsey has a train station, however Amesbury does not, so if coming by train you will need to get a lift back and to/from the campsite.
The campsite needs to know numbers by mid-May. Cost is £10 per person based on 16 people and we can pay by cash/card on arrival.
*Please sign up by mid-May to reserve your spot. If nearer the time you cannot make the trip, I can try to find a replacement person, otherwise you will need to pay for your spot*
